Watson & Smith are independent opticians providing expert eye care and contact lens fittings in Taunton and Wellington.
Watson and Smith was established in 1992, when optometrists Andrew Watson and Adrian Smith acquired Focal Point Opticians at our current location on Fore Street in Taunton. In 1999, we opened our second practice in Wellington.
The partnership continued for over 30 years, until Andrew Watson retired in 2025. In August 2025, Adrian's son, Patrick Smith, joined the practice, continuing the family tradition of providing independent eye care to the local community.
Adrian continues to work across both practices as an optometrist and contact lens practitioner.
Outside of work, Adrian enjoys furniture making and tries to keep fit by playing squash and cycling.
Patrick qualified from the University of Manchester in 2025 with a First Class Master's degree. During his studies, he was awarded the prize for top student of the year. He is currently completing a further qualification in glaucoma.
Outside of work, Patrick is a keen mountain biker and road cyclist. He also plays tennis and enjoys a variety of water sports.

About Us
